Should students wear uniform to school or not?
Wearing uniform or not is a conflict topic between students and school. Most of students think they should wear their own clothes to school; however, school may think students wear uniform to school will help teacher be easy to manage them, and students can easy to focus on school work. In my opinion, students should wear their own clothes to school.
First of all, student will have more chance to show their personality if they can wear their own clothes to school. From wearing their own clothes, it can change students’ personality that their personality will not be invariable. It’s good for students to shape good personalities.
Also, most of parents think it will cost them more money on buying school uniforms and students’ own clothes. Most importantly, some of family cannot afford both costs; so they think it will be helpful to alleviate their family economic burden.
In addition, it can let students have more creative. From matching clothes, it can train students color matches and style match. It’s good for them in the future. Because most of students do not like the style of school uniforms, so students can make their style to school; it can increase interest to student to go to school in order to increase the efficiency in the class.
In general, I think students should not wear school uniform to school because of their personality, creative, and family economic burden.

I always use this song to encourage myself. Because of it, I always listen to this song in my room. Dora always says, “Please do not listen to this song again!!!”
Beyoncé, who sing this song, is one of my favorite singers. This song is talking about girls need to fight for themselves and be strong. Girls can have their own life and make miracles.
I knew this song from Rita; she suggested me to listen to this song. After it, I started loving this song and playing it every day in my room.
My mother always tells me, “Girls should not rely on the boys too much. You should do everything for yourself and by yourself.”
One part which is really attracting me is lyrics. The lyrics teach me a lot, including how a girl can be strong.
In addition, I like the background music. It makes me be very excited every time when I hear this song; like I am going to fight for myself.
The difference between this song and other songs is this song is for encouraging girls to fight for themselves, other songs may just for entertainment. That is the main reason why I really like this song.

Journal 1
“I am so nervous.” Rita said, “It’s my second time to take SAT. If I cannot get a high score, what should I do?”
“Calm down. You can take at least two more times; and you have 22 Chinese students with you.” I said.
Looking through the students who are going to take SAT, I feel nervous too. But I need to pretend I am cool in order to placate her mood. I feel more nervous when everyone start going in the classroom. Person by person, I hope I can go to a classroom with more international students. Fortunately, I go to a classroom with more Chinese students; I feel be ease after it.
“Put everything away, please. We are going to take the test.” The teacher said, “Fill in your information… Section 1, writing, begins…”
Looking the question, I start opening my mind and find some ideas. Words by words, I almost finish writing my essay.
At that time, “Put down your pencil.” The teacher said.
Are you kidding me? I thought. I almost finish my conclusion… I am on the last word. I was so sad about it.
After the third section, we have 5 minutes break. We gather together and try to let everyone feel relax. We get something to eat and talking about other things beside study.
“Go back to your sit, please…” The teacher said.
We start doing section 4. In the classroom, I feel the atmosphere is so depress; it makes me feel very nervous. SAT is one of the most important tests in our life. According to this test score, I can choose whatever college I want.
After the fourth section… the fifth section… until the tenth section… I try my best to finish the test.
“Times up, put down your pencil… Have a good weekend.” The teacher said.
When everyone comes out, I see many smiles; and many students feel relax.
“We are going to enjoy our three day weekend. Wow… Wow…”
Earth Without People Reaction Paper
Earth without people is about how the Earth will change after human beings disappear. Including how infrastructure constructions are fall apart, the items we use in daily life may become fossils. In the article, author uses a lot of imagery to show readers how the Earth will be if human beings vanish. In my opinion, author uses a lot of sight and some sound imagery in the article.
First of all, author uses sight imagery to show readers how the Earth will look like after human beings disappeared. For example, the article says “Today those paddies have become barely discernible, transformed into pockets of marsh, and the new occupants of these lands arrive as dazzling white squadrons of red-crowned cranes that glide over the bulrushes in perfect formation, touching down so lightly that they detonate no land mines.” The author uses this view to tell readers the paddies will get barely discernible and red-crowned will become the new occupants there. It can give readers a view in their thought that can give readers more imaginary space in order to let them have more interest on it.
Second, author uses sight imagery when he is talking about animals. For instance, the article claims that “Asiatic black bears, musk deer, and the nearly vanquished Amur leopard would spread into slopes reforested with young daimyo oak and bird cherry. The few Siberian tigers that still prowl the North Korean–Chinese borderlands would multiply and fan across Asia’s temperate zones.” It shows readers the animals’ life without human beings. It can let the readers see the change of animal's life associated with whether the disappearance of human beings or not.
In addition, author uses some sound imager to let this article become more interesting. For example, the article says that “Next to whooping cranes, they are the rarest such birds on Earth. They winter in the DMZ alongside the endangered white-naped cranes, revered in Asia as sacred portents of peace.” The sound “whooping” makes this article less boring. It can increase the readers’ interest and give them some imaginary space.
In general, author uses a lot of sight and some sound imagery. It gives readers a scene in order to let readers have better understanding, more interest, and more imaginary space which is good for readers’ writing. It’s an easy way to grab the reader’s attention. Also, it’s a good way to let readers think about how to protect the place we live now that will not make human beings vanish. It also can increase public’s environmental awareness.
College Essay
My grandfather always tells me, “Character is one of the most important things to determine if you will be successful or not; all things are difficult before they are easy.” This leads me to think if we don’t have a good character; it will be difficult to do many things. Without it, it might be easy to give up or have bad relationships with others. One thing that shaped my character most was sport. I started playing different kind of sports when I was in grade 5. I have learned to play tennis, bowling, and softball. My parents and coaches were very strict with me. They hoped that I would do my best in the games.
I joined the bowling and softball teams in high school after I came to America. As an international student, it was hard to blend with the team. Most local students had already got a very good understanding with each, so I asked myself, “What did I have to offer?” Fortunately, I met two very good coaches; they gave me a lot of chances to play. What I learned first was team spirit. On the team, I don’t have struggle by myself; I have my dear teammates. When we played in-field we always tried our best to do it, but we also needed some communication with out-field. We need to encourage each other and to train our mutual aid and cooperation spirit during the game. Studying in China, we only need to study by ourselves. On the contrast, we need to study in groups in America; this helps me to know how to cooperate with other people no matter in academics or society. This precious experience guided me to do better not only during the match or study, but even in life.
A few years ago, I went bowling with my friends. After a while, I started feeling sad because I thought I cannot do a good job. My friend comforted me and helped me to calm down. She told me it was just a game, and the reason why we were here was to have fun. Jokingly, they said they would punch my face if I still felt upset. Actually, I knew they wouldn’t, they just wanted to tease me happy. This remained me to always try to improve myself that I will have enough competitiveness with others so that I won’t be easy to obsolete from the society.
Whether in sport, academics or life, I know I might not always be successful, but I still always do my best. My mother always tells me, cooperation with other people is very important in society. I appreciate what my grandfather said to me, and I believe that whatever is worth doing is worth doing well, where there is a will, there is a way.
